Series Description:
These files were generated by Claude Pepper's Washington, D.C. and Miami District
Offices during his tenure as U.S. Representative. They include colleague
and constituent letters and copies of letters, memos, greeting cards, telegrams,
interoffice memos, and various enclosures such as articles, newspaper clippings,
reports, lists, photos, books, booklets, legislation and bills, financial
records (invoices, bank statements, etc.), issues of periodicals, speeches,
resumes, itineraries, press releases, programs, "Trip Details," maps, statistical
information, transcripts of hearings, tickets, membership cards and certificates,
government documents, form letters, general information and/or data, transcripts
of radio programs or television interviews.
The most extensive files in this series include acknowledgments, colleague mail, district office mail, favors, invitations, public relations, recommendations, referrals, requests, and thank-yous.
