Claude Pepper Library
The Claude Pepper Library is a part of FSU Special Collections and FSU Libraries. The library includes the papers, photographs, audio and video recordings, and memorabilia of the late Congressman Claude Pepper and his wife, Mildred Webster Pepper. In public life for more than forty years, the political career of Claude Pepper included 14 years (1936-1951) in the U.S. Senate and over 25 years (1963-1989) in the U.S. House of Representatives. His devotion to public service encompassed the administrations of nine presidents.
The library also houses a collection of papers, photographs, audio and video recordings, and memorabilia of former Florida Governor, Reubin Askew. For eight years (1971-1979), Reubin Askew served as the thirty-seventh Governor of Florida. He was also the U.S. Trade Representitive for three years (1979-1981). In 1984 he bid for President, and in 1988 he campaigned to become a Senator.
Here at the Claude Pepper Library, researchers have the opportunity to study the contents of these valuable collections.
